Chelsea's youth players are easy to beat because their hearts are heavy.
They know deep down that their club doesn't really love them.
They are fed on nothing but porridge and gruel.
They share a cramped and musty dormitory.
They are caned for insolence, tardiness or scuffiness, but never for playing
badly, for the club takes little interest in the games.
They are never congratulated or consoled.
Most importantly, they are never held or told that they are loved.
Please, if you have any heart, spare a thought for the Chelsea youth players
this Christmas. If you currently own or run a Premiership team or even a
first division team, reach within your hearts and your pockets and give
whatever you can afford for these players, or their careers may be over
before they have begun.
(Cue Midge Ure/Bob Geldof/Phil Collins/ Everyone else on a downward career
slope collaboration)
Joe ;-)
