Tbh, it's complicated. As Ben and Dat mentioned, there's a whole situation
between myself and Gary Brew. It's complicated. I won't go into details.

I understand your concerns, Peter, and they certainly haven't escaped my
attention. I'm as unhappy as you are about the bad language used by some
of the more foul-mouthed members of the group in thread titles. In the last
fortnight alone, I've counted six uses of the word "fuck" in thread subject lines,
three uses of "buggered", two uses of "cunt" and even one "babycuntbiter".
I've asked the perpetrators to tone the language down a little as we move
towards the finals and I have no doubt that they'll oblige. However -- and
this is an important point -- UEFA were fully aware of the tendency of
UKSFers to swear when they granted the group the status of "official Euro
2004 newsgroup." It's not that they encourage such industrial language but
they're aware that football is a passionate game, supported by passionate
people. In short, they're more concerned with us providing a group that's
free from racism and xenophobia than stamping out every little "fuck" or
"cuntface". And in that respect, I don't think they could have chosen a more
tolerant group.

Limited? Technically, there shouldn't be any. As James mentioned, we've
got a limit of 20% but in reality, we're only the official newsgroup for the
European Championship _finals_. There are serious legal implications here
and if we had provided a running text commentary on all of the final group
games, as many suggested, we'd have been in breach of our contract.

I must say, Peter, I'm slightly disappointed in the level of your hostility towards
UKSF in your most recent posts. I expected a backlash from other groups,
who haven't received this prestigious honour, but really, this is going too far. I'm
beginning to think you're not even a real Euro 2004 fan.
Email UEFA and voice your concerns if you wish but by doing so, you'd only
be hurting the tournament itself. Is that what you really want, Peter?
